Laura Imrie
SecretaryLaura Imrie is the Curator of the National Air Force Museum of Canada in Trenton, Ontario. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Guelph in History and Museum Studies, a Master of Museum Studies from the University of Toronto, and a Volunteer Management Certificate from Humber College. She brings to the OMMC Board of Directors over fifteen years of experience in the museum field, twelve of which have been at the National Air Force Museum of Canada. She has also worked and volunteered at a variety of museums throughout central and eastern Ontario, including the Royal Ontario Museum, London Children’s Museum, Guelph Civic Museum, and John McCrae House.
Laura has a strong background in museum theory and ethics, as well as experience in a wide variety of museum roles, including exhibit development and curation, collections management, grant writing, and education and public programming. She is passionate about preserving and sharing Canada’s military heritage by making it accessible and engaging for all Canadians.
She is excited to join the OMMC Board of Directors as the Secretary in order to contribute to this growing network of Canadian Military Museums.
